During the 1930’s, St Luke’s Church in Phoenix prided itself on its TB Sanatorium known as St. Lukes in the Mountains. A 1936 church newspaper touts the facility: “Here at altitudes of 5300 feet, cooling breezes temper the summer heat and its patients are provided the opportunity of getting out of the valley heat.”

The 1940’s brought a major change to Pine Acres after WWII had begun. Young naval pilots were being trained to fly at Love Field in Prescott. Housing was limited, so Pine Acres provided these young cadets a place to stay while they were stationed in Prescott. Since the end of WWII, the property has remained an apartment community, with a wonderful heritage coupled with a peaceful setting in the tall pines. Pine Acres is a unique and convenient place to live.
Pine Acres Song
The song was created and sung by Dick and Judy when they co-owned the property with the Magnetts and Reids 2005-2016.
